Coffee & Contemplation: Part I

Another day, another round of Facebookers reposting memes fantasizing about the President of the United States sauntering up to a podium and declaring Congressional Paychecks will be withheld until such time as…blah, blah, blah…

This is not the President’s job. Any idiot knows he doesn’t have the power to do anything like this. WE do. The voters.

Except it’s not what people vote for. We continue to send the same lying faces back to the legislature year after year. We make excuses about “Institutional Memory” and partisan bullshit.

Stop voting for the incumbent. Even if that means you have to hold your nose and check the box next to someone you don’t agree with politically. Write your representatives, tell them what your priorities are, and explain that if they don’t make a real effort to steer things in the right direction you’re voting them out of office at the end of the term.

If people spent less time on Facebook re-reading their own opinions filtered through the stink of another moron’s halitosis and more time actually looking at voting records and campaign contributions we could do this thing….but hey, screw it, just re-post Jimbo’s dumbass, heard somebody say it in line at Wal Mart, legally and constitutionally impermissible sub-intellectual masturbation.

  • Citizens United should have been LEGISLATED off the table.

  • The Immigration Crisis and endless uncertainty of the Dreamers is the legislature’s fault.

  • The cuts to the CDC that preceded the Coronavirus Pandemic are thanks to a weak, cowardly legislature.

Start reading up on what YOUR representatives are doing. Stop voting for the same old liars and thieves out of fear. Fire everyone who has failed to advance YOUR agenda. Keep firing them until they get the message.

Every cycle. Every office. You blew it? You’re fired.

Are there exceptions? Sure. I think there was one on my ballot. One.

Okay….I need to find my pants.

Stay Weird.
