Dave's Not Here
This week’s show, The “4/20 Show” that wasn’t is online now through all your preferred podcast distribution providers (I’m aware that TuneIn is lagging. The problem is on their end, but it’s being addressed).
What we covered:
100-year-old woman gets broken waterline fixed, after 5 month ordeal
The 25 worst jobs in US: low pay, high stress, and poor job security
Social media “influencer” convicted in plot to hijack Domain Name
Several Central Valley stores hope to curb panhandling with signs
Disney shares rocket higher after unveiling streaming cheaper than Netflix
Judge Upholds Mandatory Measles Vaccinations
Officials accused of trying to sell alleged Robert Kraft sex tape
What we didn’t:
Holy Smokes, I’m tired of talking about weed. It’s a thing. Some people like it. Some people love it. Some people still think “Reefer Madness” was a documentary. Personally, I’m retired. I smoked when I was in my late teens and early twenties. I’ve had a puff or two since then, but it makes me wildly paranoid so I don’t enjoy it like I used to. If you dig it…cool. Don’t toke & drive.
I just don’t care about it, except as an individual liberty issue. That’s why my 4/20 show…isn’t.
One the other hand, I was able to participate in a Scotch Whisky tasting at The Library at Detention this week. It was an eye-opener to put Dalmore 12, 15, and 18 side by side.
The 15 has the best scent. Almost a ripe banana thing going on there. The 18 is so smooth it’s unbelievable. But dollar for dollar the 12 is your best bet. Dalmore makes a great drink, but the price point on the older bottles isn’t justified (in my opinion).
All that said, I was gifted a bottle of The Dalmore by Daniel Boulud last year. It’s now reselling at $300 a bottle…and it’s worth it. That was a whole different level of spirit. It’s a shame they only released 1,000 bottles!
I’m off to Grandma Teresi’s for Easter this year. I hope however you celebrate the day it’s with people you love and company you enjoy.
Cheers!
